Static IP’s Are Now Available!

images_static-ipsWe have just released another brand new product to our business segment: static IP’s! These will be available on all Business Uncapped products as of today. Users will receive 5 static IP addresses as well as a 740X Billion Router for the once off cost of R1499.

Since the launch of our Business Uncapped product in April, we have decided to expand the value adds to this product by including static IP’s. Once you sign up, we will pre-configure your router, which will then automatically activate the static IP service upon connection. Your router will be delivered free of charge and there will be no contracts associated with this service.

A static IP address is different to a dynamic IP address because it is manually assigned to your computer and remains the same unless manually changed. The benefits of this are:

  1. You have remote access and can connect to your PC where ever you are.
  2. You can host your own website.
  3. You can host your own mail server
  4. You can host an FTP server.
  5. You can host a gaming server.

Static IP and router configuration in the DSL Console

In the settings page within the DSL Console users can view and manage the following aspects of their Static IPs and Router:

Users can SEE

  • The Static IP’s assigned to their account
  • Their DMZ information
  • Their DHCP Settings
  • Their Subnet Mask
  • Their Default Gateway
  • Their Port information

Users can CHANGE

  • Their ADSL Account Password (this will automatically reconfigure their router)
  • NOTE: You cannot change the account name for security and technical purposes
  • Their DHCP Ranges
  • Their Subnet Mask
  • Their Default Gateway
  • Turning on the 1 – 1 NAT
  • Assigning their internal IPs to the Static IPs (Assigning NAT)

To sign up for this service you will need to have a Business Uncapped account as well as 7402X Billion router from us. You can either sign up for Business Uncapped via our website, or as a Business Uncapped customer, you can add on static IP’s via the DSL Console.

Is this product VPN based, like the old IS static IP solution?
