Women of Web Africa : Meet Kelly-Rae
SA commemorates Women’s Month in August. In celebration of the wonderful women of Web Africa, we’ll be featuring them throughout the month.
She may have a name like a Southern county singer (and she does love to sing), but she’s not the next Dolly Parton- she’s one of the newest editions to the Web Africa family, Kelly-Rae Barker!
Kelly-Rae joined the Web Africa family last month as PA to the Executive Team, while her very own family also welcomed a new edition just 18 months ago when her baby Kayden was born.
Kelly-Rae was born in Joburg and moved to Durban at a young age. She arrived in Cape Town in 1997 and has worked as a PA for the last 8 years, “Working as a PA is absolutely what I love to do, so I’ll be sticking to it!”
Working in the male-dominated ISP industry is no problem for Kelly-Rae. “I have quite a strong personality and know how to deal with the male species”, she jokes. “I enjoy working with both men and women.”
When she isn’t working hard at the office, Kelly-Rae loves spending time with her “amazing little monkey Kayden” and her husband Michael. “It’s very strange how just two years ago my life was care free, but since having a baby- WOW, life has definitely changed- for the better!”
She loves eating at Mama Roma’s and indulging in Cadbury’s every now and then. She will be celebrating Women’s Day by having a lovely lunch with her closest girlfriends.
“I think we deserve a Women’s Day to be spoiled every now and then.”
On working at Web Africa, “WA is an awesome company, so much happening, great people, all young and vibrant, I love the fast paced environment!”
