Women of Web Africa: Meet Zuriah

SA commemorates Women’s Month in August. In celebration of the wonderful women of Web Africa, we’ll be featuring them throughout the month.

This Web African hails from the City of Gold and has dreams of winning her own gold someday-  she’s an avid martial artist with a love for fast cars, sushi, good books and the beach. She  joined the WA family last year as our Billing Divisional Manager and is now the Acting Customer Care Manager… Meet Zuriah Davis!

Zuriah counts mixed martial artist Georges St-Pierre and South Africa’s favourite icon, Madiba, among her heroes. For Zuriah, “It’s easy working in a male dominated environment. Men are sometimes simpler to understand than women and in most cases, less emotional. There’s usually no need to sugar coat with men!”.

She loves all Asian food and enjoys catching up with friends at Cape Town restaurants Hong and Chai-Yo when she isn’t hitting the gym, kettle-bell training or refining her martial arts. She admits to being addicted to her Blackberry and loves nothing more than spending time with her niece and nephew from Joburg when she can.

Otherwise you’ll find her relaxing with a non-fiction book or enjoying an episode of Fringe with her cat, Malik, and her parrot named Kiewiet.

For Zuriah, Women’s Day is so important as it commemorates the women who fought peacefully for our constitution, so it’s good to remember what they did for us so that we could have the opportunities we have today.”

“Working at Web Africa allows me to implement my own ideas to effectively contribute to improving the business and making it a top company in SA!” she says.
