Yesterday we experienced one the most awful outages and would like to bring some light to the matter. Our IPC service was reduced to around 5% of its normal capacity – this IPC service is a Telkom service that connects ADSL users to Web Africa’s Network.
The problem was related to the Metro infrastructure Telkom use as backhaul between their own POP’s. Unfortunately this took a significant amount of time for them to isolate and resolve. MyBroadband released the latest broadband speed test statistics earlier this week. Web Africa once again topped the Broadband Speed Ranking list, coming in with an impressive average 7.42Mbps Download Speed on the 10Mbps line.
