To complete your order you will be required to RICA your LTE account, but not to worry we’ve made this process easy and then all you need to do then, is pay for your LTE router.

Plug In Your Router

We aim to courier your SIM (and router if you choose to take ours) to you within 3 - 5 business days after your RICA has been approved. When you get it, just open the box, insert your SIM, turn it on and away you go. Lastly, enjoy your Internet flight!

Your Router Options Explained

Option 1

You order a SIM only package and use your own Router. If you order our SIM only package we will credit your account with R250 (if you order the 50GB package) or with R500 if you order any of the other packages.
Please note you must already have one of the following routers.

Option 2

You order a SIM & Router Package. We will deliver a Free-to-use Huawei B315 LTE Router. to you, along with your SIM.

  • Q. Webafrica’s LTE at Home service is an LTE-A product, what does this mean?

    LTE-A (Long-Term Evolution Advanced) is a reliable wireless Internet service which delivers true 4G speeds that are 2 - 3 times faster than regular LTE.

  • Q. How many LTE at Home Services can I order?

    A maximum of 3 per customer is allowed.

  • Q. What speeds can I experience on LTE at Home?

    After rigorous testing we’ve seen speeds of between 10 – 150Mbps depending on various factors (proximity to tower, where the router is placed in the home, interference from Mother Nature etc.). In general our customers get around 20Mbps.

  • Q. Can I use this LTE service anywhere?

    Going on holiday to Plett? Pack it up and take it with you. LTE at Home works anywhere within the coverage area (remember our coverage map expands weekly, so check back at any time to see if your next destination is covered).

  • Q. Do I need to RICA my SIM card?

    Yes, you need to provide Webafrica with an electronic copy of your ID and proof of address that is less than three months old. Once you have ordered, you will automatically be prompted by email to RICA, the documents can then be uploaded in our Customer Zone.

  • Q. Are any contracts involved?

    We don't do contracts – that is how we roll! If for whatever reason you want to cancel, all that is required is a calendar month’s notice.

  • Q. Free-to-use premium LTE router vs. SIM only deal – which is right for me?

    If you already own one of the LTE routers listed below, then we suggest taking advantage of our SIM only deal which rewards you with up to R500 off your account:

    Huawei B315, Huawei B618, Huawei B2338 (Outdoor), ZTE MF253, ZTE MF283+, ZTE MF286
    (Please note that if you cancel your LTE service or fall into a suspended state (for longer than 30 days) within 12 months from activation, Webafrica will clawback the credit applied to your account)

    If you are new to LTE or don’t own a router listed above, then by all means grab our free-to-use premium LTE router.
    Please note that if you cancel your LTE service or fall into a suspended state (for longer than 30 days), Webafrica reserves the right to charge you the full retail price of the router or provided the router is in good condition, you may choose to return it to us.

  • Q. Does Webafrica’s free-to-use LTE router support other Internet connections?

    Fibre connections are supported, ADSL/VDSL are not.

  • Q. What if my speeds are consistently slow (eg. below 5Mbps)?

    Please note: always run speedtests through wired connections to rule out wifi problems as a possible cause.
    If you’ve purchased a LTE router from us, you have 5 business days to cancel the service in order to qualify for a full refund. We’ll arrange a courier to collect the router at a time and place which is convenient for you. If you’ve received a free-to-use LTE router then simply cancel your package and return the router to us at any stage.

  • Q. Will my first payment and allocation of data be on a pro-rata basis?

    Yes, we pro-rata our LTE services. So, if you sign up halfway through the month you will pay half the monthly fee and receive half the data for the rest of the month.

  • Q. Can I upgrade or downgrade?

    Yes. Upgrades and Downgrades are scheduled for month end. However you can top-up at ridiculously low rates at any time.

  • Q. How do I view my usage?

    By logging into your Customer Zone, you can view your usage, upgrade or downgrade and purchase top-up data. We’ll send you a link to your Customer Zone as soon as you’ve ordered.

  • Q. Does top-up data expire?

    Yes, 30 days from purchase.

  • Q. Does unused data rollover?

    Unfortunately not.

  • Q. How long does it take for my LTE-A SIM, and/or where applicable, router to be delivered?

    3 to 5 business days after you have successfully RICA’ed (Stock dependant).

  • Q. How long does it take for my LTE-A service to activate?

    The SIM will automatically activate within 24 hours after delivery if it is inserted in to a LTE router on our approved list.
