If you have your DSL Line with Web Africa, we have updated your line to the new upgraded speed, for no extra cost. You can also check the current speed of your line by logging in to your Customer Zone, going to your Line service under the Internet Access menu item, clicking View Details and then Manage My Line.

Upgrading your data package

Why not upgrade your uncapped data to get the best out of your free boost in line speed?

For example, if you previously had an up to 1Mbps line, it is now capable of up to 2Mbps speeds. Simply upgrading your Home Uncapped data package from 1Mbps to 2Mbps for an extra R20 per month, means you’ll be able to get the most out of your upgraded DSL line and a better, faster internet experience.

Log in to your Customer Zone, under Internet Access, go to your ADSL package and choose Upgrade under Manage My Service. Upgrades can be actioned immediately or scheduled for the end of the month.

What happens if you don’t upgrade your data package?

You can simply continue on your current uncapped data package. While your DSL line could allow for higher speeds, this will be limited to the speed allocation of your current uncapped data package. In the above example, your speed would be limited to 1Mbps if you chose to continue on your 1Mbps data package.

Does the bundled option refer to the cost of the data and line rental combined?

Yes, it includes the line rental. But not the Telkom line acces fee of R160

hi Phillip. Haunted99 is correct, it inlcudes both the data and the ADSL part of your Telkom line. You will still need to get a working Voice line through Telkom which unfortunately we cannot help with. As soon as that is sorted we CAN help you with the ADSL line part. If you rent your line through Web Africa you will not only get access to our Line Management tool but you will also save per month as our monthly ADSL line rates are cheeper. I hope this clears everything up.

As a power user I was very quickly placed in the 1 star priority pool which made my internet SO unbearable that I literally could not even access the webafrica website. GG shit ISP, gg not for me!

Cannot send support tickets on website. Why do you “upgrade our line free of charge”?? If I have a 4Mbps line with a 4Mbps internet limit, and I was paying R400 pm, why would I want to increase the line speed to 10Mbps and still pay R400pm? Surely you should rather charge me less for the line, and offer to upgrade me? Actually, you are not giving us anything free, you are charging me R150 a month more, because I should only be paying R250 pm?

Hi Leon. While your Data package limits you to 4Mbps, your line does not. You can choose to upgrade your package to 10Mbps for an extra R200pm or alternatively you can downgrade your line to 4Mbps and save yourself R150pm. By the looks of it you are having problems sending a support ticket. Please email me on website@webafrica.com and I will get an agent to be in contact with you. Regards Jeremy
