Which Is Right For Me?

Is Business Capped ADSL Right For Me?

We have designed our Business ADSL range to deliver fast and reliable internet. By prioritising business applications such as email, FTP downloads and VoIP on our Gold Quality bandwidth, we ensure that our Business Capped solutions provide you and your business with the best internet service possible.

We offer four types of Business ADSL products: Business Uncapped, Business Capped and two pro accounts, Business Uncapped Pro and Business Capped Pro. The Pro packages come at a slightly higher cost but are packed with extra features and enjoy top-prioritised bandwidth.

Why Go Capped?

Capped internet data gives you a fixed amount of data that you use as you like. You pay upfront for a set amount of gigs; the speed at which you can access them is dictated by your ADSL line. Capped packages give you your full ADSL line speed and have a higher quality priority on our network. Capped is ideal for small offices or work-from-home businesses as well as those who know how much data they use – or want to use – each month.

Why Go Uncapped?

A single fixed monthly amount gives you access to unlimited data, making an Uncapped package the ideal solution for most businesses. With Webafrica’s Uncapped ADSL you pay for the speed at which you access data, not the amount of data you use. And as always with Webafrica, there are no hidden fees or extra costs.

What Does Mbps Mean?

Mbps stands for Megabits per second. It refers to the speed that data travels on the internet. Speed simply means how fast you can browse and download content from the internet. The more speed you have, the faster your files will download. For example, downloading 1 GB will take just over two hours on a 1 Mbps connection but only 14 minutes on a 10 Mbps connection.

What Line Speed (Mbps) Options Do I Have?

1 Mbps: Suitable for small teams that don't need data-intensive services, 1 Mbps is the answer for general internet browsing, online banking, emailing and the occasional download.

2 Mbps: Best for small to medium-sized teams that are active online but not overly dependent on fast speeds. It's the right speed for general internet use for both you and your business.

4 Mbps: Now this is fast internet! 4 Mbps is for teams that need quick speeds and consume lots of data-heavy online media in addition to normal usage.

8 Mbps: Speedy internet that is perfect for up to 8 – 10 simultaneous users. 8 Mbps is ideal for streaming videos online, for stellar gaming, as well as conference calls and bigger downloads.

10 Mbps: Delivering an eye-poppingly fast internet experience, 10 Mbps is perfect for tons of media-rich data, viewing online videos in High Definition and super-quick downloads. It also helps keep lag to an absolute minimum.

20 Mbps: The second fastest internet connection available in South Africa, at full speed 20 Mbps can download a 1 GB file in just 8 minutes.

40 Mbps: The fastest internet connection available in South Africa. If speed is important to your business then 40 Mbps VDSL is what you need. At full speed it will download a 1 GB file in 4 minutes.

Bundled vs Unbundled

A bundled product solution is one where an ADSL line and a data package are purchased at the same time. In contrast, an unbundled product is one which is purchased alone (i.e. An ADSL line without data OR data without an ADSL line). We do not offer customers the option to purchase unbundled products; hence the following scenario is relevant: If a bundled solution is purchased initially and the data portion is subsequently cancelled, then the remaining ADSL line is classified as an unbundled product. The unbundled ADSL line will now attract a higher cost (Extra costs range from R15 – R50 pm depending on your line speed.)

Upgrade, downgrade or cancel?

You can upgrade or downgrade your ADSL broadband account at any time simply by logging onto our easy-to-use Customer Zone and choosing your new package. Upgrades are instant; downgrades are activated at month end if initiated before the 20th of that month.

Webafrica doesn't do contracts, so if you want to cancel our service, just give us a calendar month's notice – it's as simple as that! And although we can't speak for the other guys, we have no hidden setup or cancellation fees or any sundry costs.

Does my team size affect my internet speed icon image.

Does my team size matter?

Yes it does. While the internet speed we provide you with remains the same, the more people you have using your internet, the more your bandwidth is shared between them. And based on their usage, speed will indeed be affected. So for larger teams we recommend our faster ADSL line options (10 Mbps, 20 Mbps & 40 Mbps).
