South African RICA law dictates that we must make use of an external third party courier. While we try to team up with the fastest and most reliable resources, we are ultimately at their mercy for the delivery of your LTE SIM and router.
With Telkom LTE deliveries, you will be given a number to SMS if you need to make any changes to the delivery time or place.
Most orders are delivered within 3-5 days of successfully placing your order.LTE is capable of up to 50Mbps. If the network is congested, or you are located far from the tower, or if there is bad weather in your area, you may experience slower speeds.
Our Cell C customers can expect an average download speed of between 4-50Mbps. Our Telkom customers can expect an average download speed of between 10-25 Mbps. All of our data packages are month-to-month, so you need only give one calendar month’s notice should you wish to cancel.
If you do decide to cancel your LTE service or if your account falls into a suspended state for longer than 30 days, you will be billed for your router.
Alternatively, you may choose to return your router to us (at your own expense) and we will then credit this amount back to you. If you did not take one of our routers, and were thus given a credit on your account, then this amount will be clawed back upon cancellation.
Please ensure that the LAN cable and anything else which came in the router box is returned or these items will be billed to your account.A maximum of three per customer is allowed.
We’ve run rigorous tests on both networks and have found the following:

MTN:MTN’s Fixed LTE service is designed to be used at your home or office. Remember, the SIM card will be locked to the location you provided during sign-up and as a result your Fixed LTE services will ONLY work at this location.

The Fair Usage Policy (FUP) is our super simple way of protecting the integrity of the Webafrica network. As with all acceptable usage policies, if you use more than a certain, predetermined “fair” amount of data (your FUP threshold) in a given time frame, you stand to be restricted to slower speeds during peak times, in order to allow other users to access the network fairly.
The MTN Uncapped package will come at a speed of 10Mbps with a 200GB data threshold for new customers. Upgrades on this package will be available: Uncapped Premium at a speed of 10Mbps for 350GB and Uncapped Pro at a speed of 10Mbps for 500GB. Once you have reached your threshold, your speed will drop to 1Mbps.
How will I know I’m about to get FUP'ed?We will send you notifications via Email when you reach 70%, 80%, 90% and 100% of your FUP threshold and notifications via SMS when you reach 90% and 100% of your threshold. You can then choose to upgrade or continue on FUP’ed speeds. If you remain over your FUP threshold you will receive these notifications every ten days. You may opt out of these notifications in your Internet Usage Tracker if you do not wish to receive them.
You will have 10 Mbps up until 200GB. Once you’ve hit this threshold, your speed will drop to 1 Mbps. Once active you can choose to upgrade to one of our other uncapped packages - Uncapped Premium (Max speed possible for 350GB thereafter FUP kicks in and reduces speed to 1Mbps or Uncapped Pro (Max speed for 500GB thereafter FUP kicks in and reduces speed to 1Mbps). Your threshold is automatically refreshed at the beginning of each month.
Our premium LTE routers are exactly that: free-to-use for as long as you are with Webafrica and using the relevant service. If you cancel your service you will be billed for your router, or you may return it to us in its original condition, in its original packaging.
