We currently offer two uncapped categories for our 10 Mbps Openserve package - Uncapped and Uncapped Premium. The standard 10 Mbps Uncapped package carries a FUP threshold of 150GB. The 10 Mbps Uncapped Premium package carries no FUP. All other Openserve packages (20 Mbps and above) have no FUP applied.
Please Note: We only apply FUP on our 10 Mbps Uncapped Fibre package on the Openserve infrastructure. No other Fibre providers have a FUP threshold.
Good to Know: If you are on the 10 Mbps Uncapped package which carries a FUP, your usage between midnight and 06:00 am every day does not affect your rolling FUP threshold. So, if you are planning downloads, make sure you schedule them for these times so they won’t impact your FUP status.

Fibre is much, much faster than ADSL and Naked ADSL, which means that you’ll make a faster and better connection when downloading emails, files, website content, media-rich files, etc. ADSL (including Naked ADSL) runs over old copper telephone wires and was never really meant to do anything more than making sure you can phone your granny. Linespeeds and connectivity can be affected by copper wire theft and the distance your house is from the Openserve local exchange box. Webafrica provides you with a fully insured, premium free-to-use Fibre router. So you are sorted. That said, you can use any router that has a LAN/WAN port, BUT it will need technical reconfiguring. We suggest you use ours. Everything will be set up for you and because it’s insured, if anything goes wrong you know you’re covered.
Please note: Our Free-to-Use routers can provide a 1Gbps wired connection. We cannot guarantee the wireless speed, 1Gbps is achievable under optimal conditions.
We rely on our various suppliers to provide us with the areas that can get Fibre Internet. Whilst they do roll out new Fibre lines every week, not every area is covered yet as it is still a growing process in South Africa. Once we receive confirmation from our partnering suppliers (Fibre Network Operators) that a certain area will receive Fibre within the next few months, we usually add an option for pre-ordering the service if it will be available to you. Pre-ordering will get your name in the queue for installation when the Fibre goes live.

If Fibre is available in your area, great! Place the order and we’ll do all the boring stuff, send you some cool stuff (your free-to-use router of course), sort out your installation and activation, and bada-bing, bada-bang, you’re online!
Important Note: A standard installation covers 30 metres of cabling (free of charge). If your installation requires additional cabling, a site survey will be conducted to determine this. Please note that you will be liable for any additional cabling costs. A quote will be drafted and must be approved by the homeowner. Once this quote is approved, the Fibre provider will resume the installation.
Nope! We don’t do lengthy contracts holding you down. All our recurring services are month-to-month based so if you want to cancel, you just need to give us one calendar month’s notice.

Upgrades are effective within 3 days of placing your upgrade request.
Downgrades are effective on the 1st of the new month (if you downgrade before the 20th, otherwise it will only be effective the next month).

To Cancel – we need just one calendar month’s notice. Should you decide to cancel, please note that you may be liable for clawbacks and/or a cancellation processing fee.
No problem! In your Customer Zone you can select “Moving Homes” where you will be able to cancel your current line and order a new one for your new home. You will need to give us one calendar months’ notice. To minimise the chance of interruption in your service, schedule your cancellation in advance before your move-in date.
Please note that we are still required to cancel the line with your current Fibre Network Operator (FNO) which means a clawback fee might be applicable if you’re moving within your first 12 months of going active. You might also be liable for installation, connection and/or activation fees should you move to a package on an FNO where we do not cover those fees.
The 25/25Mbps & 55/25Mbps packages on the Octotel network is exclusively to first, new installations only.
Existing Octotel customers cannot downgrade or upgrade to the 25/25Mbps or 55/25Mbps product. This includes existing Webafrica customers as well as customers switching from a different internet service provider and remaining on the Octotel network.
This is a provision set by Octotel and therefore we are unable to offer it to existing customers.

If you’re anything like us, you will be actively streaming most of your music, movies and series from now on. We recommend a 10Mbps (or higher) line to enjoy the likes of Netflix, Showmax, Amazon Prime and DSTV NOW without annoying buffering or lag times.
There are some amazing streaming services which will work beautifully on your Fibre line. Some of the tried and tested (and loved) options include Netflix, Showmax, Amazon Prime, Google Play Movies, DSTV Now, and iTunes Movies, to name a few.
If it’s music you’re after take a look at Spotify, iTunes, Google Play Music, Deezer, and even YouTube playlists. We also enjoy 8tracks, although some of the content will ask you to play through YouTube to get around licensing issues.
You’ll be happy to know that Webafrica Fibre internet is available in all the provinces of South Africa, including: Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West, Northern Cape, And the wonderful Western Cape.
When you sign up for any of our packages, we will give you 30 minutes of FREE VoIP calls per month! You can use it to call anyone, anytime, on any network in South Africa or you can make international calls at ridiculously low rates. All our data packages are month-to-month, so you only need to give one calendar month’s notice in order to cancel your service.
Free-to-Use Routers are exactly that - free to use for as long as you are with Webafrica and using the relevant service. If you cancel your service you will be billed for your router, or you may return it to us in its original condition, in its original packaging.
Should you cancel your service (or fall into a suspended state for longer than 30 days) you may be liable for either a clawback (installation/connection fee that we covered upon signing up) or a cancellation processing fee, depending on the service you signed up for.
Clawback fees: If you are on a service that didn’t have a cancellation processing fee applicable when you signed up, and we covered the installation/connection fees, you will be liable for clawback fees if you cancel within 12 months of activation.
Cancellation processing fee: If you are on a service where a cancellation processing fee was applicable when you signed up, the above clawback period and fees will not apply. Should you wish to cancel at any time, there will be a cancellation processing fee of R999.
Please note that the reselling of our services and products are not allowed. We do not take any responsibility for support from any unsolicited resellers and urge customers to only order directly from us, either on our website or through one of our friendly Webafrica sales agents.
We cover all installation and connection fees on Vumatel Fibre-to-the-Business (FTTB) packages. Should you decide to cancel within 12 months of activation, your clawback will be calculated as follows:
(12 months – the number of months your service has been active) X your recurring service fee.
Example: If you have a 20/20Mbps FTTB service and have been active for six months, then it will be (12 months - 6 months) X R1729 = R 10374
If you have opted for any Fibre service that has a cancellation processing fee applicable, please note that if you cancel your service at any time, you will be liable for a R999 cancellation processing fee which will be billed to your account upon cancellation.

On some of our Fibre providers we offer a promise to get your Fibre installed within a certain timeframe, or we will credit your account with R999. This excludes the following scenarios in which case you will not receive the credit:
